What does an access control consultant do?

An access control consultant designs how people and vehicles move through a building securely: which doors are controlled, how users are identified, how visitors are handled, and how the system links to fire alarm, lifts, CCTV and HR records.

Our access control contracting team installs the design. Camera coverage of controlled doors is planned by our CCTV consultants.

Access control fails in two directions. Too loose, and a propped-open door defeats the whole system. Too tight, and staff find workarounds by lunchtime. As an access control consultant in Dubai we map how people really use the building, then set security levels zone by zone so that control is strict where it matters and invisible where it does not.

Our access control system design produces a door access schedule listing every controlled opening with its reader, lock, exit device and monitoring. We select credentials, whether cards, mobile, PIN or biometrics, and design turnstiles, speed gates, barriers and visitor management. Fire alarm release, lift destination control and time and attendance are included where needed.

We deliver access control design for offices and towers in Dubai, as well as warehouses, schools and clinics, under our ELV consultant service. Designs are coordinated with CCTV so events and video line up, and installed by our access control contracting team if you wish.

When to call us

You do not need a finished brief. If any of these sounds familiar, let's talk.

  • Staff are sharing cards or doors are being propped open.
  • You are moving into a new office and need the access scope defined.
  • Lobby queues build up at peak times.

How we work

  1. Brief and survey

We review drawings, visit the site where needed and agree the scope and the standard to design to.

  2. Calculate

We run the calculations and record the inputs and assumptions so they can be checked.

  3. Design and document

Drawings, schedules and a clear report, issued for your review.

Shoaib Alam Mohammed

Access Control Consultant: questions, answered

Card, mobile or biometric: which is best?

It depends on user numbers, security level and convenience. Many offices mix them: mobile or card for general doors, biometric for sensitive rooms.

What happens to locked doors in a fire?

Doors on escape routes must release automatically on fire alarm. We design that link and the fail-safe behaviour of each lock.

Can access control record attendance?

Yes. The same events can feed a time and attendance or HR system if that is planned from the start.

Can it work across several branches?

Yes. A networked system lets you manage users and doors at every site from one place.

What is a door access schedule?

It is the list of every controlled door with its reader type, lock type, exit device, door contact, fire alarm release and which user groups may pass at what times. Contractors price and install from it, so a complete schedule is the best way to get quotes you can compare.
