What is included in access control installation?

Access control installation includes fitting readers, electric locks, exit buttons and door contacts, installing controllers and power supplies, cabling, software setup, enrolling users and access levels, and linking doors to the fire alarm so they release in an emergency.

Door schedules are prepared by our access control consultants. Cameras on controlled doors are installed by the CCTV team.

An access control system is used hundreds of times a day, so small installation faults become daily irritations: a reader mounted where nobody can reach it, a lock that buzzes, a door that does not quite latch. For access control contracting in Dubai we coordinate with the door supplier and fit-out contractor so that hardware, frames and power are right before the reader goes on the wall.

Access control system installation covers card and mobile credential readers, biometric door access using fingerprint or face recognition, magnetic and electric strike locks, turnstiles and speed gates, vehicle barriers and long-range readers, time and attendance terminals and visitor management kiosks.

We carry out door access control installation for offices in Dubai and for residential buildings, warehouses, schools and clinics. The work is part of our ELV contracting service, usually alongside CCTV so events link to video, and with fire alarm interfaces for door release. Door schedules and system design come from our access control consultant team.

Access Control Contracting: questions, answered

Can access control be added to existing doors?

Usually. We check the door, frame and power route and choose a lock type that suits.

What happens during a power cut?

Controllers have battery backup, and each door is set to fail safe or fail secure according to its role and the fire strategy.

Can staff use their phones instead of cards?

Yes, with readers that support mobile credentials.

Can we manage users ourselves?

Yes. We train your administrator to add, change and remove users and to run reports.

Do locked doors release automatically in a fire?

They must. Access-controlled doors on escape routes are wired to release when the fire alarm activates, and fail-safe locks open on power loss. We test this interface at commissioning with the fire alarm contractor present.
